Aviagen and Aurora Coop Work Together to Strengthen Poultry Management

In Company edition of Aviagen Connection blends field visits, hands on learning and data discussions to boost breeder performance, health and welfare

CAMPINAS, Brazil – Between July 15 and 17, Aviagen® Latin America worked with Aurora Coop to host another edition of Aviagen Connection – In Company in Chapecó, Santa Catarina (SC), Brazil. The sessions focused on breeder management and everyday production routines, combining on‑farm visits with collaborative data analysis and knowledge‑sharing – all with the goal of supporting Aurora Coop’s operational success.

In Company – Tailored management support

The In Company format sits within the broader Aviagen Connection program, which brings the latest poultry management know‑how to Aviagen customers across Latin America. While standard editions gather multiple companies in regional sessions, the In Company version is created for a single customer. That focus allows a deeper dive into local needs and conditions, performance goals, and specific management challenges.

Over the first two days, participants visited rearing and production farms to gather real‑time observations. Joining the Aurora Coop teams were members of Aviagen’s customer support group: Rodrigo Tedesco Guimarães, Technical Services Manager; and Regional Supervisors Tiago Gurski, João Heron Ribeiro, Alcides Paes, Viviane Ruviero, and Fabiano Gonçalves. Also taking part was Wendy Sander Bresolin, Poultry Production Manager at Aurora Coop, who coordinated her team’s involvement throughout the event.

“This kind of exchange helps align ideas, revisit practices, and discuss improvements based on our everyday challenges,” shared Bresolin. “The Aviagen Connection format strengthens our common bonds and supports more informed, confident decision-making across our production teams.”

On the final day, the group met at Aurora Coop’s headquarters for presentations, small‑group exercises, and open discussion. Topics included Ideal conformation of male breeders, Management of male breeders for fertility, and Critical process factors. Insights from the farm visits were reviewed alongside flock data so that teams could prioritize practical next steps.

“Allowing time on the farm – then immediately coming together to interpret what we saw – is what makes the In Company approach so effective,” explained Tedesco. “By working side by side, gathering data, sharing perspectives, and applying ideas, we create a stronger path to continuous improvement – Breeding Success Together for our customers and for the poultry sector in Latin America and beyond.”
