Company collaborates with Plasson and Phibro to share practical poultry expertise with leading poultry producers
CAMPINAS, Brazil – Aviagen® Latin America recently brought its Knowledge Without Borders seminar series to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Central America, where producers took part in two days of interactive sessions designed to deliver practical, science-based strategies for healthier, more efficient flocks.
From August 25–26, Aviagen joined forces with Plasson and Phibro to welcome around 80 guests from Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI). The program concluded on August 27 with a field visit, giving participants a first-hand look at management practices that can be applied immediately in their own operations.
On August 28, Aviagen and Plasson hosted another 80 guests from four leading Honduran poultry producers – Avícola El Cortijo, Avícola Ganadera San Antonio, Intergen and MEZCASA.
Locally relevant, practical topics
Both events combined interactive presentations with open discussions on subjects that directly impact poultry production in Honduras, including:
- Male and female management for fertility and uniformity
- Optimal biosecurity to protect chick health
- Caring for the modern embryo and making the most of the incubation period (40% of a broiler’s life)
- Supporting chick quality and welfare with strong early nutrition
- Strategies for liver, intestinal, and respiratory health
- Water quality and raw material management
- Preventing mycotoxins, Salmonella, and Marek’s disease
- Managing the environment to reduce heat stress
A highlight was a session on the central automatic nest, a system that improves egg quality, biosecurity, and hatchability, while also supporting bird welfare.
Customer voices at the center
Rodrigo Cisoto, Head of Technical Services for Aviagen Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean (CAME), commented: “It’s always a pleasure to be with our customers in Honduras, and to work alongside partners who share our focus on practical solutions. These events are all about exchanging tools and ideas that match the reality of local producers, while building on the strong relationships we’ve formed over many years.”
