Aviagen brings tailored expertise to local poultry producers
CAMPINAS, Brazil – The Aviagen® Latin America team kicked off its “Knowledge without borders” tour in February and March, hosting seminars for Ross® 308 AP poultry producers across El Salvador, Guatemala and Bolivia. Now, the team continues its journey to enhance the success of Central American poultry farmers, welcoming producers in Honduras and Costa Rica to enriching knowledge-sharing events, together with industry allies PIS, Phibro and Interagro.
On April 8 and 9, Aviagen engaged with Honduras 80 customers of CMI Alimentos, and again on April 11 met with 60 representatives from customers El Cortijo, Mezcasa, Proyeco, Intergen, Integral, Diagro and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras (UNAH).
One month later the Aviagen Latin America team was back on the road again, this time traveling further south to Costa Rica. May 6 and 7 saw 80 delegates from CMI Alimentos and on May 9, 60 participants from Asociación Roblealto, Walmart-Ricura and Industria Avikiri Sociedad engaged in lively discussions with the goal of elevating their management knowledge and farming practices.
Events in Honduras
At both events, the agenda was carefully selected to address specific needs of Central American producers. Topics included optimal flock management from housing to 14 days of age, effective male and breeder management techniques, and prevention and management of muscular and respiratory diseases. They also delved into important aspects such as optimal ventilation and environmental management, good vaccination practices and multi-stage versus single-stage incubation for the best embryo development and chick quality.
Events in Costa Rica
“Honduras and Costa Rica are growing markets with rich opportunities for poultry businesses. We are dedicated to supporting producers in these countries. Through close collaboration and sharing of relevant and up-to-date innovations and expertise, we aim to fuel growth and success,” remarked Rodrigo Cisoto, head of Technical Services for Aviagen in Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean. “Our ongoing goal is to provide them with the knowledge needed to optimize the performance, sustainability, health and welfare of their Ross flocks. By doing so, we enable them to fulfill their crucial role as providers of an essential protein source to their local communities.”
