HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Aviagen® celebrates the success of yet another U.S. summer internship program. We hosted 17 students from universities in the U.S. and Europe, each coming from strong agricultural programs that enabled their skills in our industry. Alongside our Aviagen experts, they spent the summer learning various aspects of the company: the corporate atmosphere, hands-on lab work, and real-world poultry engagement.
When the students began in late May, they spent 10 weeks learning more about our poultry breeding operations – working with numerous departmental teams. They were able to see our internal operations and gain experience that will benefit them moving forward in both the professional and poultry worlds. This year, they explored production, hatchery management, microbiology, research and development, veterinary services, marketing, accounting, veterinary welfare and sustainability, and data analytics.
To round out their time at Aviagen, the interns each presented their projects and experiences. We are proud of the accomplishments and growth of each of the interns, and wish them well on their future endeavors!
